Commissions

I love painting commissions because they allow me to tell someone else’s story, and connect with that person in a meaningful way.

Against the Current

This commission was for an all-female instructor team at the National Outdoor Leadership School! It commemorates their semester course in the Yukon. After hearing about a wildfire, they decided to change directions and track their canoes upstream for 10 days straight. But in those last 10 days, the group learned more about each other than they had in the entire 90-day course.

Mountain Biking

This painting was a commission for someone who mountain bikes as a form of therapy! Through this outdoor activity, she has found the most patient, supportive, loving group of women. She says they are always encouraging each other on and off the trail.

Oreo

This was a commission for someone whose daughter was going away to college in the Fall and had to leave her dog behind. Her dad surprised her with this painting to hang in her dorm room. That way, she could keep something that was far away close to her heart.

Yosemite

It’s not really about the view. This painting was commissioned by two people who have been married for 50 years.

My Favorite Things

This 2x3ft painting was a surprise birthday gift for someone’s granddaughter. She is a budding vocalist and her grandfather wanted to give her something that would inspire her to pursue her passion for singing.

Cosmo

This painting was a Christmas present for someone's daughter. It’s easy for me to paint the relationship between a person and their dog, because mine is my best friend. And bringing him home was the best decision I ever made!

Engagement

This commission captured a special event in someone's life. If you could turn one moment into a painting what would it be?

A Forever Love

A 2x3ft commission for someone who recently lost the love of her life... I hope this painting brings her back to all the magical moments they shared together! Remember to always be kind because you never know what people are going through.

The process is simple

Brainstorm

Compose an email with ideas and photos. I can paint one photo, combine multiple photos, or work from my imagination.

I am more than happy to talk over the phone if that is easiest for you!

Size & Price

Decide which size is the best fit for you or the person who will receive the painting. You may want to decide where it will hang and measure that space. Or maybe you have a specific budget! I price all commissions based on canvas size, rather than time.

Sketch

When I am ready to start your painting, I will create a sketch. I always send this to my clients and get their approval before adding paint. This is your opportunity to make any changes. I have never had an experience where someone did not love their commission, and I believe it is because of this vital step.

Final

I often send progress photos to give you a glimpse into the process. Upon completion, I photograph the painting and send this to you. I always ask for approval before posting online and scanning it for prints.

Ship

I ship originals in a special art box through Fedex. My customers pay for shipping. If you live within two hours from me, I am happy to arrange for in-person pick-up/delivery. At this point you can expect an invoice via email.

I look forward to hearing from you!
